Today, the Center for Wooden Boats reopens its livery, allowing those who need the fresh air of boating to be able to get out on Lake Union. Reservations for boat rentals can be made on-line (click here,) or by calling 206/382-2628.
Even following all COVID-19 guidelines and precautions, the Center for Wooden Boats (CWB) is gearing up for one of their best years yet! This year will be the non-profit’s 45th Anniversary, and they have organized the annual poster competition to announce it.
The theme for the Anniversary Celebration will be ‘Connecting Generations & Maritime Heritage’. We will be celebrating the many facets of CWB, and its community, while highlighting programs including woodworking, boatbuilding, youth, the Cama Beach Boathouse, and on-the-water fun! Past Festival posters can be seen on the CWB.org website (click here.)
Anyone is welcome to submit an entry! Submissions will be reviewed by a panel of judges, and the artist selected may need to work with the selection committee and must be willing to alter their design based on recommendations. The finished art will be used on Festival posters, postcards, t-shirts and for advertising and branding purposes.
The deadline for entries, which do not need to be finished pieces but should represent what is intended, must be received by CWB no later than January 24th. Application guidelines as well as terms of participation can be found on the CWB.org website (click here.) The selected artist will receive $500, as well as having their name printed on the poster and any marketing materials.
Good luck!
