As they paint and prep the steel for the new North Seattle Transfer Station, and complete the roof of the recycle building, construction is nearing a change in focus.

Sidewalk and drainage work is shifting from N 35th Street to Woodlawn Ave N, and this will require closures of the west sidewalk, and even the roadway, occasionally, through early April – depending on weather conditions.

This is all about replacing the North Transfer Station with a new facility intended to process solid waste more effectively and efficiently to take our city closer to its zero-waste goal.  The current construction schedule has the Transfer Station opening this year.
