Change Of Leadership At Wallingford Community Senior Center

The Wallingford Community Senior Center, located in the Good Shepherd Center, and serving the seniors of Fremont as well as Wallingford, has had a significant change in leadership – likely to make the non-profit organization stronger.

This Thursday, October 3rd, at 2p, the Wallingford Community Senior Center Board invites everyone to join in a farewell party for departing Executive Director Clair Petersky.  Petersky has been recruited to work at the Washington State Housing Finance Commission, after three years leading our Senior Center.

The WCSC Board of Directors initially tapped longtime employee Ashley Larson to step in as interim Executive Director.  Larson has five years of experience at WCSC, having served in a variety of roles and showing success with increasing levels of responsibility.  Larson has recently been in the position of Operations Manager, playing a vital part in staff supervision, budgeting, fundraising, programming and more.  Larson has been an ‘invisible hand’ keeping WCSC on track, and the Board is confident that she will prove a successful and caring leader of the organization.

Please consider stopping by our Senior Center on October 3rd to wish Petersky well in her new position, and show support to Larson.  If you cannot attend the Farewell Party, consider attending ‘Spirits In The Night’ at Fremont Mischief Distillery on Oct 15th, at 5:30p.  This casual fundraiser for the WCSC will include spirits, hors d’oeuvres, and live music by the Roosevelt Jazz Band, along with members of the WCSC Board, answering questions and sharing their vision for the future of the non-profit.
