On Sunday, February 8th, from 6p – 9p, get your chocolate fix while supporting the efforts of the Puget Soundkeeper Alliance – a non-profit headquartered in Fremont – at Chocofest, held at Pike Brewing (1415 – 1st Ave – enter on Union St.)
It’s been called ‘the best event of the year,’ and now in its seventh, this gathering for beer and chocolate lovers has become a nationally recognized and anticipated feast for the senses. For $50, attendees will have food, drink tickets, live music and receive a 2015 Chocofest commemorative tasting glass. This romantic event includes local and imported beer, chocolate, wine, cider, mead and spirits, along with desserts, oysters, artisan cheese & bread, and savory foods from many of Seattle’s top restaurants and hotels. With close to 100 vendors, all three levels of the Pike Brewery will have many opportunities to delight, indulge or simply sample.
For the third year, Chocofest will benefit the Puget Soundkeeper Alliance, a non-profit protecting and preserving the Puget Sound waters since 1984. With over 2,500 miles of shoreline, this irreplaceable and vital waterway remains one of the most beautiful and unique ecosystems in the United States. While much of the Sound is healthy, development is stressing the system – polluted water, closed shellfish beaches, toxic sediments, loss of habitat, and sharp declines in fish, marine mammal and bird populations can be found around our area and give signs that the Sound needs the help of the PSA.
