On Saturday, November 6th, City Fruit will mark the end of the harvest (with 30,000+ pounds of fruit collected to date) and raise money for the coming year. From 11a – 3p at their offices at 4000 Aurora Avenue, drop-by the City Fruit Celebrates event and pick-up pre-ordered cider/beer packages, bid on auction items, collect swag and enjoy free ice cream!
Purchase a ticket now to be a part of City Fruit Celebrates, to fund the mission of this 501(c)3 non-profit that tends to the health of the urban orchards, and provides produce to food banks and citizens rather than letting it rot on the ground.
Purchase a cider/beer package, for $50 or $125, and pick-it-up at the City Fruit offices – and take part in other giveaways and fundraising activities. While there, meet volunteers and staff and learn more about the important mission of this local non-profit. On Saturday, while at the offices, enjoy ice cream from Frankie & Jo’s, and hear about the amazing work City Fruit does keeping healthy fruit from waste. Also, bid on silent auction items, or purchase raffle tickets for round-trip, first-class tickets on Alaska Airlines.
Visit the City Fruit website for more information about the Celebrates event, and about becoming a volunteer – and joining the more than 140 others who help City Fruit harvest, prune, and pest-manage trees around Seattle. Also, find out about jam-making events going on this Fall, and more fun and fruitful activities City Fruit supporters and volunteers can take part in.
