‘Claret’ Joins Our Community – Another Great Space From Heavy Restaurant Group

The Claret Wine Bar has opened in the Brooks Building on Stone Way, adjoining a newly re-vamped Thackeray Kitchen & Bar.  Claret and Thackeray are both part of the Heavy Restaurant Group, best known in our area for the popular Pablo Y Pablo restaurant, but praised all over Seattle for establishments like Purple Café & Wine Bar and Barrio Mexican Kitchen.

Claret is the tenth location in the Heavy Restaurant Group, and brings a warm, sociable atmosphere to its intimate location at the corner of N 35th St on Stone – across the street from evo.  With dishes thoughtfully paired to elevate the ingredients on the plate with the wine in the glass, Claret’s menu has been carefully developed by Chef Elijah DiStefano.  The global wine list, served by sommeliers Eli Traverse and Janice Dean, includes 200 wines by the bottle, 50 wines by the glass and half-glass ‘duos’ of every varietal offered on the glass pour menu.

Claret shares a wall with Thackeray, which recently underwent subtle renovations of the neighborhood restaurant and gained a new menu featuring comfort food and rethought classics with a focus on fresh Northwest ingredients.  Find out more about Claret on its website(click here,) or Facebook page, or by stopping by to take a look inside – and check out Thackeray, again, while there!
