Two shows have been added to the limited run of ‘Das Barbecü In Concert,’ at West of Lenin in Fremont. Come see the critically acclaimed, special production of this witty, tongue-in-cheek Texas-style take on Richard Wagner’s ‘Gotterdamerung’ opera from ‘The Ring’ cycle, on Monday, August 19th or Thursday, August 22nd.
“…its first-rate cast, under the direction of Richard Ziman, offers a delightful evening of high jinks. …displaying their expertise both as quick-change artists and singer-actors of major talent. Even those without any exposure to Wagner’s Ring cycle are in for a treat.” – (Alice Kaderlan, Seattle Post-Intelligencer)
With music by Seattle composer Scott Warrender, and book and lyrics by Jim Luigs, ‘Das Barbecü’ features a high-caliber cast of five performing 30 outrageous characters at breakneck speed. The music, directed by Mark Rabe, covers the gamut from Broadway to Texas swing, from jazz to twangy country/western.
“If you’ve never seen it or even if you’re a true fan like myself, you’ll want to catch this one if you’re lucky enough to get a ticket…” (Jay Irwin, Broadway World)
Tickets can be purchased in advance, for a short-time only, on-line through Brown Paper Tickets. Or, take your chances at the door on August 19th or 22nd. Whatever you do, make this a priority while this opportunity exists.
