‘What Are You Doing For Others?’ On January 20th

mlk2005_cncsOn Monday, January 20th, from 10a – 4p at Fremont Baptist Church, Fremont will join with communities all over the United States in honoring the dream and hard work of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and his followers, and showing their support through service.  This is the 2nd Annual Fremont MLK Day Of Service.

Dr. King once said, “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?’”  The MLK Day of Service is part of United We Serve, the President’s national call to service initiative. It calls for Americans from all walks of life to work together to provide solutions to our most pressing national problems.

At Fremont MLK Day Americans from all walks of life are encouraged to gather together to make emergency hygiene kits sent by the Church World Service all over the world following disasters, and to do street clean-ups around Fremont to make our community healthier.  A free lunch for all volunteers will be served at Noon, and at 1p will be a reading of Dr. King’s famous ‘I Have A Dream’ speech, a presentation on Nelson Mandela, and information on the use of the hygiene kits.

Come join the Fremont MLK Day of Service, for a few minutes or a few hours!  Join others with a spirit of service, and a will to see our world change for the better.  Learn more at the Fremont MLK Day of Service website.
