This Friday, March 2nd, the public sales of Girl Scout Cookies begin – look for the adorable Brownies and earnest Scouts out selling in front of stores – including the Fremont PCC, Fred Meyer and Marketime Foods stores!
This year, 2012, celebrates 100 years of Girl Scouts – and 90 years (since the 1920’s) of their delicious cookies! This year a box of cookies costs $4, with eight varieties available – and yes, they still have Thin Mints and Samoas.
Also, for those able to resist Girl Scout cookies, consider supporting Operation Cookie Drop – give $4 to a Scout and a box of cookies will be distributed at a military base or a U.S.O. station as a gift for one of our hardworking soldiers. A welcome taste of home! Through the 2011 Cookie Sale, Western Washington donated 138,166 boxes of cookies to our military.
How do you find your Girl Scout? Through the web, of course! The Girl Scout Totem Council has a website that shows when and where Girl Scouts are scheduled to sell at area stores.
