Deadline Extended On SPU Call To Artists For Portable Works

The Seattle Office of Arts & Culture and Seattle Public Utilities are seeking artworks to purchase for a Portable Works Collection.  The deadline for applications from professional, local artists has been extended to August 28th.

Artists are invited to submit images of original works available for purchase, specifically artworks that represent the experience of communities of color, of immigrant and refugee communities, and pieces that reflect the social issues of environmental, ecological, and cultural heritage.  All types of 2D artworks will be considered:  abstract, pictorial, figurative, representational, etc.  The maximum measurement is 48” x 48” x 5” for 2D pieces, and all works must be able to be moved by one person.

Artists may submit up to 16 images of available work, and multiple artworks by an individual artist may be purchased.  Guidelines, and the online application, can be found on the Arts & Culture Call For Entry website.  Or, get more information by calling 206/684-7132 or e-mailing deborah.paine@seattle.gov
