This Friday, October 19th, ‘Demon Dreams,’ a play by Tommy Smith, will start a one-month run at West Of Lenin – directed by Fremont’s own A.J. Epstein.
The play will run through November 10th, with tickets available through Brown Paper Tickets, but the playwright is expected to be in town for opening weekend…don’t you want to be there too?
‘Demon Dreams,’ written by the author of ‘White Hot’ and ‘Sextet,’ forecasts a future where demons rule the earth.
Three demons and three immortals (played by Matthew Aguayo, Susanna Burney, Chris Macdonald, Heather Persinger, Sara Peterson, and Carter Rodriquez) gather in a broken down temple to tell stories and spit rhymes about the goodness and wickedness of the human race.
Smith’s Demon Dreams fuses traditional Japanese story-telling with a hip-hop aesthetic for a fast-paced, enchanting allegory about the complexities of human nature.
The play performances start at 8p on Thursdays – Saturdays, with two special performances – one on Wed, Oct 31st, for Halloween, and the other a PWYC, industry show on Mon, Nov 5th.
This play is appropriate for audiences as young as 13 years old, but those 21+ are encouraged to enjoy a pre-show beverage in the new West of Lenin lounge. Purchase tickets today!
