On Monday, July 17th, at 6:30p, the City of Seattle Department of Construction and Inspection will host a public meeting on Design Review of a proposed development for 3623 Fremont Ave N. The meeting will take place in the Ballard Community Center, in the Sunset/Captain Ballard Room, at 6020 – 28th Ave NW.
The proposed Project #3024574 is to replace a two-story building with garage next door to the Fremont Village Square. The plan is for a 4-story structure of 11 apartments. No parking or retail is included in the description. The building formerly housed the Orange Tea School, until fire damage required it to relocate. The property is zoned Neighborhood Commercial 3 – 40’, and has housed both residential and commercial uses in the past.
Comments by the public will be accepted on this project, in writing or in person, on the site planning and design issues only. This is the second Design Review on this project, and the applicant will respond to guideline requests and priorities established at the previous Early Design meeting. Following the meeting, written recommendations will be issued summarizing the meeting and this report will be sent to those who signed in at the meeting or otherwise requested a copy.
Written comments, by those wishing to be made party of record, can be submitted (before July 17th,) at PRC@seattle.gov, or to City of Seattle SDCI PRC, 700 – 5th Ave, Suite 2000, PO Box 34019, Seattle, WA 98124-4019.
