Voters in Seattle now select representatives to the City Council by District, with Fremont represented by District #6 and District #4.

This Fall Seattle voters will select the City Councilmember that will represent the area where they live for the next four years.  With seven seats on the Council (out of 9) up for election, and four of those seven seats entirely open, this election can potentially change the entire Seattle government.

The neighborhood of Fremont sits in two different districts, with those who live east of Aurora Avenue (Highway 99) voting in District #4, and those to the west voting for District #6, along with Ballard, Greenwood, and Crown Hill.

According to the King County Bureau of Elections, there are 14 candidates registered, so far, for the City Council District #6 position.  The candidates are:

Most recent news from two of the campaigns is:

  • On Saturday, May 18th, from 3p – 6p, the grassroots campaign for Sergio Garcia needs passionate volunteers to help with canvassing the neighborhoods of District #6.  Help connect Sergio with residents, inform them of his platform and make the case for why we think he is the best choice.  Volunteers will gather at The Dane, on Crown Hill at 8000 – 15th Ave NW, for a short training session.  The canvassing teams will be using an app called MiniVan to log their progress.  Please RSVP to Sergio@sergioforseattle.org by May 17th if you can join in the fun, and help Sergio get word out to District #6 voters.
