September is Hunger Action Month, and our local food bank FamilyWorks is trying to raise $6,000 to fund its programs – particularly the Greenwood Food Resource Center. Thanks to an anonymous donor, every donation will be matched this month, up to $500.
A donation of just $25 provides one week of groceries for a vulnerable family, and that donation will be doubled this month so that a family can now enjoy two weeks of healthy, nutritious food, and stave off food insecurity and the fear of facing bare shelves. FamilyWorks would also like donors to consider joining the ‘Resiliency Team’, and give a monthly commitment to fighting hunger – all year long. Your first donation as a ‘Resiliency Team’ member this month will also be matched dollar-for-dollar. As an extra incentive – every new ‘Resiliency Team’ member will be entered into a raffle to win an awesome Growler Package, courtesy of Chuck’s Hop Shop in Greenwood.
