We all have much to be thankful for, and in this holiday season it might be good to take a few minutes and help those in our community in need.

The Fremont Branch of Key Bank is collecting donations of specific housewares for the new residents of the Catholic Community Services low-income Patrick Place Apartments.  This new building (constructed on the former site of the Thunderbird Motel) has 71 units soon to be occupied by people currently homeless and/or living in shelters – and they will arrive with very little in the way of linens and supplies.

The Fremont Neighborhood Council has compiled a list of items people can donate to help these new Fremonsters:

  • twin size sheet sets
  • twin size blankets
  • bath towels
  • bath mats
  • shower curtains
  • pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen towels
  • dish soap

Please bring donations to the Fremont Branch of Key Bank (at 601 N 34th St) this holiday season, and help out these people as they finally achieve permanent shelter.  Patrick Place Apartments will offer them a safe place to live, with on-site support services and a roof-top garden with a view of Fremont, but your donation can make them feel part of a warm and welcoming community.

Please consider giving!  For more information, contact Samira Salkic at samira_salkic@keybank.com or Beruke Giday at BerukeG@ccsww.org
