Next week, on Wednesday, March 2nd at 7:15p and Thursday, March 3rd at Noon, everyone is invited to take a one-time-only class – or join the series – in The Art of Ikebana.  These relaxed, joy-filled classes, led by experienced Ikebana instructor Charles Coughlan, welcome participants with years of experience, or none whatsoever.

‘It’s taken me a lifetime to learn to draw like a child.’ – Pablo Picasso

Ikebana is an ancient Japanese art, using nature and balance, to create an arrangement of exquisite, subtle beauty.

Coughlan leads his classes with inspiring words and calming meditation, before moving into creating and playing with flowers, leaves, twigs and other art mediums.  Classes end with positive feedback and discussion on the pieces made by students, and their experiences crafting their work.

The class fee is $20, with materials provided.  Bring your own bowl, and snips, or use those provided, and take home your arrangement to enjoy the results of your effort.  Both classes take place at NalandaWest.

RSVP to attend either the Wednesday or Thursday class, at Charles@hanadesignikebana.com or 206/789-4226.
