Dusty Strings offers on-line classes for those wanting to build, or improve, their musical skills.  This is a great time to grow your talents, enriching your skills and expressing musical creativity.

For those who need an instrument, Dusty Strings is open for sales of all kinds of banjos, dulcimers, harps, mandolins, etc.  Right now, Dusty Strings is featuring an Italian-made Castagnari Button Accordion for sale.  The circa 1990s accordion features cherry wood, 21 treble buttons, 8 bass buttons, and a stepped keyboard.  Known by their sound, the family-owned and operated Castagnari company is dedicated to traditional methods of building.  Find out more on the Dusty Strings website (click here.)

If you have a used/vintage musical instrument that is not getting play, consider selling it – and Dusty Strings may be able to help.  They are seeking to buy or trade quality American-made acoustic and electric guitars, mandolins, banjos, and ukuleles.  If you have something you think they might be able to use, call Dusty Strings at 206/634-1662 or music@dustystrings.com

For those looking for classes, the Dusty Strings music school has opportunities this summer for on-line learning, including an August 2nd – September 6th Beginning Ukulele 2 with Birch Pereira.  They also have Beginning Guitar Repertoire, taught by Jonathan Shue, from August 12th – September 2nd.

Learn to play Bluegrass Banjo with a one-day on-line class through Dusty Strings.

On August 7th, 11a – 1p, Jason Stewart will lead a two-hour Introduction to Bluegrass Banjo group class on-line on Zoom.  Students will learn the essentials of tuning, care and maintenance of your banjo, and a comprehensive overview of chords, riffs, melodies, basic rolls, strums, and fingerpicking.  Jason Stewart has been playing the banjo since his early childhood, in East Tennessee, and he takes great enjoyment in connecting those new to banjo and bluegrass with the knowledge of playing.  Register to participate by August 4th, for $50, and receive the link to the class and any other notes needed to participate.

Find out more on the Dusty Strings website (click here,) or stop by the store Tuesdays – Saturdays from 10:30a – 6p.  This landmark and historic retail business and school has long been a draw for the Center of the Universe because of their amazing and unique products and services.  Check out Dusty Strings for your own inspiration this summer!
