On Friday, August 4th, from 6p – 9p, the Fremont First Friday Art Walk welcomes everyone to stroll culture and art being created today. It’s hot this week, but the best way to enjoy it is by getting out and distracting yourself with the art and artists (and friends) of our ‘hood.
Make sure you get out and see:
- Orange Twist at Portage Bay Goods – Seattle designer Claire Jauregui will bring her prints, cards, onesies and more to display in August. During Art Walk, meet Jauregui and ask her about her hand-crafted screen printings, and the company, Orange Twist, that she created. Find more details on the Portage Bay Goods Facebook event page.
- Liz Neuman at Frame Up Studios – Explore the newest prints by one of Frame-Up’s favorite artists to display. Her remarkable skill and the joy she feels when creating is evident in her work, and when you meet her in person at First Friday. While at Frame Up, be sure to check out the art framed expertly by the crafts persons at Seattle’s leading frame shop.
- Christine Olson at Fremont Jewelry Design – The abstract balance of color and space in Olson’s paintings bring the viewer into a serene landscape. Step inside Fremont’s artisanal jewelry shop to meet this artist, and enjoy her works.
- Outsider Comics & Geek Boutique – While they haven’t announced the artist featured in the shop this month, Outsider Comics always has a great selection of original art and craft items. Check out the small release comics and locally produced jewelry in this select shop.
While walking around Fremont, you can also check out a new mural being created by Andrew Miller, on the back wall of the building that houses Dave Page Cobbler and The Sweet Spot.
The Fremont First Friday Art Walk is a great way to explore the art, and the neighborhood – and it’ll be cooler on our sidewalks than in your stuffy home… Find out more about what you will find at the Art Walk on the official website!
