The Emmanuel Bible Church, across from Woodland Park Zoo, is still meeting virtually and everyone is invited to join in the weekly worship. On Sunday, November 1st, members of this community will be at the church building to decorate the trees with small wooden ornaments containing words of hope, prayer and blessings for everyone in the neighborhood.
Meanwhile, in year’s past, Emmanuel hosted a Winter Shelter in the building, operated by Union Gospel Mission. Due to concerns about COVID-19 transmission, UGM will be unable to provide shelters like this one this winter. The ministry leaders at Emmanuel are still seeking ways to support and share with those in need, as the weather turns bitter and the need grows. They plan to host Emmanuel Dinners starting on November 1st.
Following the strictest sanitation guidelines and health precautions, each Sunday night Emmanuel Bible Church will host a free community meal for everyone, serving pre-packaged dinner boxes. In addition, they will offer an open clothing / supply closet for anyone in need of warm socks, hygiene items, clean jackets, etc.
