This Friday, November 4th, from 6p – 9p, venture out into the dark and cold to find the bright, warm light of Fremont First Friday Art Walk! This free foray takes place at venues all around the Center of the Universe, and gives attendees great opportunities to see beautiful and stirring works of original art, and meet the artists.
This month, make sure your Art Walk includes:
- Portage Bay Goods – For ‘illustration that’s simply delish,’ enjoy the art of Kellyportfolio. Bring your appetite for sweets, puns and a little bite of Theo Chocolate at this artist’s reception, while keeping an eye out for great gifts from Fremont’s favorite gift shop ‘For the Thoughtful Procrastinator’.
- Frame-Up Studios – Go ‘Beyond The Bark’ with photos by Beacon Hill artist Ann Hunstiger. Explore found images in tree bark, harnessing the magic and beauty present in everyday life, which always includes the panoply of scars, wounds and holes. While at Frame-Up, talk to the well-informed staff about holiday framing; their new printing facility will make printing and framing easier than ever, for decorations and gifts.

Also consider adding a stop on your route – the new Outsider Comics & Geek Boutique will be open during Art Walk for your perusing pleasure. Keep in mind, many shops and restaurants offer discounts and special promotions during Art Walk, so be sure to bring your shopping list and appetite along with your artistic curiosity!
