This weekend, the Fremont Outdoor Movies offers a Saturday screening, continuing its Summer Of Will Ferrell Fest. Due to unexplained circumstances (at least, the FOM Facebook posting didn’t go into details) the originally scheduled screening for Friday, August 7th has been cancelled. Don’t worry though, plenty of celluloid silliness is still scheduled for Saturday!
On the parking lot at Phinney Ave N & N 35th St, watch the original Anchorman: The Legend Of Ron Burgundy, with Ferrell, Paul Rudd, Steve Carell, and Christina Applegate. Often rated one of the funniest films of all time, this tongue-in-cheek take on the culture of the 1970s is silly, stupid and never serious but always good for a laugh for your and your friends. Bring all your friends and family out to either see it for the first time, or shout out your favorite lines of this crazy, chauvinistic and charming film.
This 21+ only screening will feature, before the film, a prize-winning costume contest, food for sale from People Of The Chubbs, and a Sex Panther photo booth. Find out more details – including weather updates and apologies for the cancellation of Friday’s screening – on the Fremont Outdoor Movies on Facebook. As always, bring your own urban campsite and arrive early – usually 7p – to get your favorite spot. And purchase tickets in advance through Stranger Tickets to reserve a space (use the promo code ‘FOMFRIENDS’ to save $5 off your $10 ticket.)
