Seattle Public Utilities has announced that solid waste customers can expect regular collection of yard, recycling and garbage waste on Monday, May 26th, the Memorial Day holiday.  Customers should place containers out for collection by 7a to ensure pick-up.

Those who do not experience normal service can call, after 8a on Tuesday, May 27th, at 206/684-3000 or file a report on the SPU website.  Seattle Public Utilities can also pick up bulky items—old furniture, mattresses, appliances, etc.  The cost is $30 per item, or $38 for items containing CFCs, such as refrigerators.  Call 206/684-3000 to arrange a bulky item collection.  Finally, on Memorial Day, the City of Seattle’s South Transfer Station will be open extended hours from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
