The Fremont Arts Council (FAC) invites everyone to come join the newly forming Leadership Teams. On Tuesday, February 7th, the inaugural meeting of the Program & Events Committee will take place at The Powerhouse at 7p. Come help put together the legendary and laudatory celebrations FAC volunteers (that could be you) create.
If you are interested in the how of events, such as the Solstice Parade, May Day, Trolloween, Luminata Latern Walk, and the upcoming Petit Troll Parade, attend the Events Committee meeting and ‘see event sausage being made,’ to quote experienced organizer, Maque da Vis.
The Programs & Events Committee will meet monthly, on the first Tuesday to start, and will first deal with planning and scheduling workshops for Petit Troll.
Your input will be needed to make FAC events great again! Please consider attending on February 7th, and sharing your ideas – and listening to others. Two other Leadership Teams also need volunteers, to help build a sustainable foundation for the FAC. They are:
- COD, or the Communications, Outreach & Development Team – next meeting on February 16th – will discuss and plan ways of funding the FAC and its programs, refresh its outreach materials, including the FAC website and social media.
- FOG, or the Finance Operations & Governance Team – next meeting on February 22nd – will provide the FAC with guidance and support for its finances, policies, Powerhouse operations, and IT systems.
Both of these teams will be meeting monthly at the Works Progress Co-work Space in Greenwood. Find out more details on the FAC Leadership Teams website, or by RSVPing to volunteer@fremontartscouncil.org
On February 14th, the FAC will host its monthly, open-to-the-public meeting called the C.O.W. (Committee Of the Whole,) at 7:10p at The Powerhouse. Find out more about the Leadership Teams, the Petit Troll and the Election of FAC Board Members, plus creating valentine’s with real artists, by attending the COW.
Any questions, or requests, of the FAC can be sent to volunteer@fremontartscounci.org. Get involved and help build a sustainable Arts Council for all of the Center of the Universe!
