The Fremont Arts Council (FAC) is a unique, community-based organization, run by volunteers and seeking to cultivate the spirit of celebration – where everyone can be an artist!

On Tuesday, January 14th, at 7p, at The Powerhouse, the FAC will host its monthly Committee Of the Whole (COW) meeting, where anyone can participate and help dream up what’s next for this community.  This is an ideal meeting for finding out what the FAC is up to, and how you can get involved.  This month, the COW will be making Vision Boards, using collage techniques, to envision what 2020 will be – for the FAC and for the individual participants.  Come take part in this creative take towards planning and brainstorming.

On Tuesday, January 21st, from 6p – 8p, everyone interested in getting involved in the FAC, and its leadership, are invited to a Happy Hour Mixer hosted by the Board of Directors of this celebration arts organization.  Learn what makes the FAC tick, and how to get involved in the creative magic-making.  RSVP to attend, at fac@fremontartscouncil.org this Happy Hour ($5 drink tickets are available for beer, wine and well-drinks,) at The Backdoor at Roxy’sFind out more on the FAC website (click here.)

On Sunday, February 23rd, join the Petit Troll Parade – a flash mob-style procession through the Fremont Market, done in the spirit of Mardi Gras.  Just before Fat Tuesday, join in pulling miniature floats, covered in gee-gaws and glitter, as the band plays.  Free, public workshops will be held starting Saturday, February 15th, and the schedule can be seen on the Powerhouse calendar (click here.)

Finally, on Tuesday, February 25th, from 5p – 8p, attend a fundraiser for the FAC and their legendary Fremont Solstice Parade (on June 20th.)  This Mardi Gras themed party will take place at Lagunitas Brewery with a photobooth, raffle prizes, and food from Esters Enoteca including jambalaya, red beans and rice.  All proceeds from food, beer and raffle ticket sales go to the FAC and its creative celebration art.  Find out more on the FAC website (click here.)

As a volunteer-run, volunteer-guided organization, the FAC requires volunteers to step in and step up, to lead and follow.  Attend the monthly COW, or one of the many other upcoming events, to find out about this alternative arts community.  Or, as a first step, just check out the website at www.fremontartscouncil.org
