Help families in need, in our community, with gifts for children living in poverty. The FamilyWorks Food Bank & Family Resource Center likes to offer clients the option to ‘shop’ for gifts to give their children. With your help…
This is a tangible way to help impoverished families, by donating new gifts for the ‘Holiday Shop’, for children ages 0 – 17.
Suggestions for gifts include:
- warm clothes – for babies to teens, including hooded sweatshirts, jackets, pants
- shoes – from baby to adult sizes
- kid-friendly art & craft supplies, journals, colored pens
- stickers, sticker books, activity books
- kids’ puzzles
- dolls
- Legos, small Lego kits
- character/themed toys of superheroes, Frozen, My Little Pony, Minions, etc.
- science kits, STEM gifts (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics)
- lip balm, nail polish, hair ties
- ear phones / ear buds
- children’s books – from chewable/board/crinkle baby books to young adult books (in English and Spanish)

Essentially, if you have a child, or know a child, buy their favorite book, toy or other gift item to give children in need. All gifts can be delivered to FamilyWorks, at 1501 N 45th St, during operation hours:
- Mondays: 9:30a – Noon
- Tuesdays – Thursdays: 9:30a – 5p
- Fridays: 9:30a – 3p
FamilyWorks would like to start distributing gifts December 11th, but donations are always welcomed – and needed – by families in poverty, and homelessness, in our community.
If you shop on Amazon.com, check the FamilyWorks Amazon wish list, which has a variety of toys, art supplies and books needed by the children of their clients. Best of all, select FamilyWorks as the designation for these items, and have them shipped right to them.
If you have any questions, call FamilyWorks at 206/694-6727, or read about the ‘Holiday Shop’ on the FamilyWorks blog.
