In mid-September, Hale’s Ales will return to doing their own restaurant inside the brewery on Leary Way. This is very exciting for those looking for a great meal alongside a craft beer, made locally.
Unfortunately, under COVID-19 restrictions and current liquor laws, the partnership of having El Camion restaurant serving meals inside the brewery was not working. It was with deep regret that the two businesses have had to part ways, but El Camion is expected to re-appear in the neighborhood and the region with its food trucks.
The separation has given the Hale’s folks a push to find another way to make the brew pub work, and in October Hale’s will launch a new menu cultivated by Chef Warren Peterson! Passionate about craft beer and great food, Chef Peterson began working in Seattle at Tom Douglas’ restaurants. He plans to showcase the ingredients in his menu items through simple, honest preparations.
As Hale’s resurrects their pub, they look forward to building the community around the beer and the food. They are excited to take up the challenge of opening a restaurant amid the pandemic market conditions, and the strict rules on cleanliness and distancing.
Sharing the same ethos as Craft Beer, the pub food will contain high-quality ingredients with accessible, direct preparations. The menu will comprised of old favorites such as meatloaf, hummus plate, BLAT, and the classic Burger, in addition to new dishes including serving that Mexican food fix with carnitas and picadillo tacos.
As the longest running, independent craft brewery in the Northwest, Hale’s Ales has a bedrock position in the Fremont neighborhood. ‘Think Global, Drink Local’ and now eat local as well, at Hale’s Ales pub. Find hours and menu options, plus service details, on the Hale’s Ales website (click here.)
