On Friday, February 7th from 6p – 9p, the Fremont Art Walk welcomes everyone of brave, and water-proof, heart to take a stroll and see the original creations by local artists, at the diverse venues of the Fremont First Friday Art Walk.
Visit the FFF website (click here) to see a list of potential venues participating this month in Art Walk, but be sure to stop by:
- Frame Up Studios – See abstract art by Brooklyn Witteman, in this show about relationships and connections. As the artist wrote, “Sometimes people intersect in life and sometimes they live in parallels. I want the viewer to engage with the transitory animals to create their own stories or understandings about interaction.”
- Down Under Gallery – Experience a brand-new show by Michelle Bates, with ‘A Low-Tech Nature’. Bates is bringing a collection of photos taken of nature – trees, rivers, and skies – with a Holga plastic camera. A speaker and instructor (and author) on use of simple, low tech film cameras, Bates has also used the Holga to capture the Fremont Solstice Parade, and other celebration art at the Center of the Universe.
- Portage Bay Goods – Enjoy an egg-cellent fri-YAY with Kelly Jackson, creator of Kitschy Delish, at the procrastinator’s gift shop. Delicious puns and sparkly pins await, along with the artist, at the PBG First Friday.
- Esters Enoteca – Collage artist Brianne Goree will be on-hand, inviting people to participate in an art project and learn about the collage-making process. Goree will be joined by DJ Jacqui O’Nasty starting at 7p.
While not necessarily the biggest Art Walk of the year (expect some surprises to come on future First Fridays in 2020,) this will be a great time to talk directly with the artists, and see the art, out of the crowds (and the rain) all for free and for fun! For a few minutes or a few hours, don’t miss out on the Fremont Art Walk on February 7th.
