The first Fremont Art Walk of 2019 takes place from 6p – 9p on Friday, January 4th, and will feature some fabulous female artists.  Make sure to include a stroll through the Center of the Universe among your Friday plans.

Be sure to check out shows at:

  • Portage Bay Goods – Once a year the Ladies of PBG show their own art in this great gift shop.  See original pieces of arts and crafts by the women who work at one of Fremont’s oldest retail stores.  Check out the photography, leatherwork, glasswork and more items created by the multi-talented employees of Portage Bay.
  • Down Under GalleryL. Kelly Lyles has long been an active support of the arts in Fremont and during the January Art Walk, her friends and fans can come celebrate her and pieces from her powerful yet playful ‘The 12 Steps’ series.  Harkening to pieces by Degas and Manet, these paintings shine like the illusory beauty and allure of alcohol and drugs, while illustrating the idiocy that lies beneath addiction.  The Gallery also has pieces from Lyles’ ‘Pro/Con’ series, and gorgeous glass by Tiffany descendent (and another Fremont supporter,) Rodman Gilder Miller.

  • Frame-Up Studios – Due to increasing demand, the showing of works by Liz Neuman and Megan Wyreweden will continue through January.  These women each reflect life in the Pacific Northwest, but using very different, distinctive styles.  Neuman’s original block prints and etchings capture the birds of the Pacific Northwest, from the Methow River Valley to our ocean beaches.  Wyreweden is inspired by history, nature, biology, and a very nerdy childhood filled with books, when she uses the mediums of acrylic, digital and gouache to convey her images.
Esters Enoteca welcomes interdisciplinary artist Barry Johnson to the Art Walk on Jan 4th from 6p - 9p.

  • Esters Enoteca – Just to be different, meet and speak with interdisciplinary artist and author Barry Johnson.  A TEDx speaker, Johnson works across all mediums and shifts the nature of his work to reflect the events happening around the world, and in his life.  Stop to speak with Johnson at Esters, while also enjoying the artistry of the food and drink at the Enoteca.

See you then!!
