On Sunday, July 29th, from 2p – 4p, the final Music In The Sculpture Garden concert for the eighth season will take place. The series closes out with two MITSG favorites – THE Other Band and Hounds @ Bay. Come enjoy free, live, acoustic music in the covered courtyard of History House for the last time this summer!
THE Other Band will provide their trademark, “pop-folk with blues attitude,” music by three veteran singer-songwriters – James ‘The Emergency Folksinger’ Nason, Kathe ‘Little Mama’ Davis, and Paul ‘Logic Man’ Sandoval – along with bassist David ‘Professor Ooh’ Pengra. For your listening pleasure, THE Other Band provides powerful harmonies, always interesting lyrics, and tight instrumentation on its all-original playlist.
Hounds @ Bay also features Jim Nason, along with Steve Peterson and Larry Baumgartner. The band mates came together around a common mission:
- To associate themselves with something, anything that would make girls want to talk to them
- To play guitar
- and, now that finally they’re old, old enough, to play the blues
According to Peggy Sullivan, with Victory Review, Hounds @ Bay are “three men, three hats, three shades of howling and growling.”
All MITSG concerts welcome families and, while free, donations & tips would be appreciated. The concerts are sponsored in part by a community grant by the Fremont Chamber of Commerce, and generous donations from many Fremont community members including:
