On Saturday, March 2nd, from 11a – 3p, the Seattle Rose Society will hold its annual rose pruning demonstration in the Woodland Park Rose Garden. This free, public presentation allows everyone to learn about correct care and maintenance of all kinds of roses by master rosarians.
Gain insight into the world of roses, and answers to all your questions. Learn to prune property, with instruction on where and how much to cut, and how to use tools property for correct cuts. Talk about the varieties of roses, and the different pruning techniques for their individual care.
In addition, stroll the 2.5 acres of the Rose Garden and enjoy the extensive array of bush roses, hybrid teas, floribundas, grandifloras, and climbers. Another part of the Rose Garden is the newly created Seattle Sensory Garden, designed for those with and without disabilities. A variety of elements encourage visitors to touch and explore including deep-toned wind chimes, temple bells, and guiros.
