For Cocktail Week, Barrel Thief Offers Specialty Cocktails – And A Class In Bitters

Seattle Cocktail Week is next week, and the Barrel Thief Wine & Whiskey Bar has some special offerings.

In its mission for exploration and discovery, The Barrel Thief often offers classes in different elements of creating fine cocktails.  On Monday, March 2nd, from 7p – 9p, learn to create tasty, balanced cocktails with hand-crafted bitters.  Learn how to create a basic bitters base, experimenting with different infusions of aromatic plant extracts for custom flavors.  In this hands-on workshop, you will be provided with everything needed to create two 4-oz bottles of bitters, including the base spirit, a variety of bittering and flavoring agents, and reusable infusion jars and dispensing bottles to take home.

The Cocktail Bitters Workshop costs $50, and is 21+ only.  No experience is needed, but do eat something before you arrive.  There will also be cocktail available for purchase during and after the workshop.  Register now at Universe.com (click here,) to attend – limited seats available.

Celebrate Seattle Cocktail Week at The Barrel Thief, starting on March 1st.

On Monday, the Barrel Thief will only be open for workshop participants, but the rest of the Cocktail Week, they will offer specialty cocktails such as:

  • Coraggio – fernet, cold brew, walnut liqueur, chocolate tincture, and North Coast Brewing Stout syrup for $12
  • Blueberry Bramble – a blueberry-infused bourbon, sherry, simple syrup, and lemon for $14
  • Cocktail Flight – get your choice of three half-servings of either a Flip Side Negroni or a Local Manhattan for $15

And a delicious alcohol-free option:

  • Royal Tea Thyme – iced white tea with blueberry-tamarind redux, and pressed thyme sprigs for $6

Stop by the Barrel Thief – either as an attendee of the Cocktail Bitters Workshop or just to enjoy a delicious cocktail as a part of Seattle Cocktail Week.  Help celebrate this local, independent cocktail bar as well as supporting a local non-profit, The World Is Fun.  Find out more at SeattleCocktailWeek.com (click here.)
