On Saturday, July 18th, the Fremont Outdoor Movies continues its season with a 21+ screening of ‘Talladega Nights.’ This evening of fast cars and scatological comedy also features a cash prize costume contest, gourmet food trucks, live music and a fundraising beer garden.
This week’s movie is the 2006 American comedy ‘Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby’ starring Will Ferrell, John C. Reilly, Sacha Baron Cohen, Gary Cole, Michael Clarke Duncan, Jane Lynch and Amy Adams. This satiric comedy deals with NASCAR drivers Ricky Bobby (‘The story of a man who could only count to #1.’) and Carl Naughton Jr, and French Formula One driver Jean Girard who challenges them for supremacy of the American race car circuit.
In addition to a prize of $250 for the best Ricky Bobby & pit crew costumes, this week’s Outdoor Movies fill be a fundraiser for The Chill Foundation. This non-profit teaches board sports (surfing, paddle board, snow board, etc.) to underserved youth ages 10 – 18, increasing self-confidence and self-esteem.
