On Sunday, July 17th, attend the free acoustic concert at History House, as part of the Music In The Sculpture Garden series. This week at 2p will be a new band, The Killdeers, and at 3p The Boys Of Greenwood Glen return to the MITSG stage.
The five member band, The Killdeers promote themselves as ‘high lonesome mountain music for the masses.’ Exploring the roots of American music, The Boys of Greenwood Glen display a deep commitment and passion for the acoustic traditions of folk, country, Irish, old-time and bluegrass. Hailing from the mythical glens of Greenwood, Seattle, ‘The Boys’ have also described themselves as ‘a drinking band with an Irish problem.’
Come enjoy the music, and the atmosphere in the colorful, comfortable covered courtyard at History House (790 N 34th.) Be sure to arrive early, as last week’s concert – with Matt Price and Alicia Healey – nearly reached standing-room-only.
For more information on the series, and the concerts on July 24th and July 30th, check the website or contact the MITSG concert series producer, John Nordstrand.
