On Tuesday, August 11th, at 7p, the Fremont Arts Council (FAC) will hold its Committee Of the Whole (COW) public monthly meeting – on-line! Join this discussion of upcoming community celebrations of art, and especially plans for the upcoming Luminata on September 22nd.
The Luminata celebration has traditionally been a Lantern Walk around Green Lake, starting from the Aqua Theater. As the FAC socially distance and do their best to prevent the transmission of COVID-19, they’ve planned an on-line gathering for the Autumn Equinox and Luminata. For 2020, the FAC want to emphasize sustainable art and challenge Luminata participants to make light art, costumes and lanterns from items already in their homes.
Luminata will take place from 7:30p – 10p on Tuesday, September 22nd, live on Zoom, Facebook and YouTube. Participants can show off their creations then – and be inspired and entertained by the works of others.
On Aug 11th, at 7p, join in the COW discussion about what Luminata can look like in the era of COVID, and how to celebrate community art going forward. Also, find out about on-line workshops, and what volunteers will be doing to encourage making art in advance of Luminata.
Join the COW on Zoom (Meeting ID#870 335 2304, Passcode: cowmeet) or on InstagramLive (click here.) For questions (or to volunteer) contact fac@fremontartscouncil.org – or visit the FAC website (click here) to find out more about this independent, volunteer arts organization!
