On big flashing street signs, closures have been announced of the Fremont Bridge for this coming weekend.  On January 9th, Friday night/Saturday morning, from 11p – 7a, and on January 10th, Saturday night/Sunday morning, from 11p – 7a, the Bridge will be fully closed to all vehicular, cycle and pedestrian traffic.

The closures come as part of the painting of the Fremont Bridge.  This project is completion of much needed maintenance of the nearly 100-year-old structure.

Some shuttle service will be made available to pedestrians and bicycle riders during the closure, but all other traffic is encouraged to detour.  METRO will detour bus traffic (routes #26, 28, 31, 32 and 40) along Nickerson Street and across the Ballard Bridge – please check your routes in advance.

An NFL Playoff game scheduled for Saturday, January 10th, in the evening, may create changes to typical traffic patterns.  Do not be caught out.  Please make plans to avoid the Fremont Bridge during nighttime this weekend!
