Fremont Chamber Annual Awards Presentation, & Other Upcoming Events

Everyone is invited to tune in to the on-line Fremont Chamber of Commerce Annual Awards Presentation, on Wednesday, March 3rd at 5p.  The Chamber will recognize their choices for acknowledgement in 2020.

The Fremont Chamber issues individual, unique awards to those people, organizations and businesses that stood out for their contributions to the non-profit’s mission to ‘strengthen the business climate and improving the quality of life in the Fremont community’.  The Fremont Chamber also presents a set of annual awards, along with art trophies, for recognized works that supports the values of our community, specifically:

  • The Jim Daly ‘Press On Regardless’ Award – given for persistence and determination
  • The Bertha K. Landes Award – named in honor of Seattle’s first Mayor
  • The Fremont Patches Pal Award – given for creating the fun and play of J.P. Patches and Gertrude
  • The Hammering Man Award – for hard work and resourcefulness
  • The Local Hero Award – for anyone from Fremont working for Fremont
  • The Solstice Award – given for bringing sunshine and light to the neighborhood
  • (New This Year) The Rodman Miller ‘Irrepressible Creativity’ Award – named in honor of a local artist and community activist, this trophy is an original, hand-blown glass, orange-and-blue vase created by Miller

This free event requires advanced registration – find the link at Fremont.com – but everyone is invited to watch the presentation, and learn who the Chamber recognizes for their contributions to our community in the difficult year of 2020.

The Fremont Chamber is also producing another networking event, for the following Monday, March 8th also from 5p – 6p.  The monthly referral, networking meet-up has a theme, ‘Home Buying… Is My Business!’  Professionals in realty, lending, mortgages, banking, staging, escrow, home inspection, movers, home repair, landscaping and real estate attorneys are being invited to come together and share referrals and advice – plus, anyone who wants to reach out to this community can join in the meet-up.  If you need to connect with people in the business of selling and buying real estate, and connected with Fremont, join up for this free meet-up.  Register to attend at Fremont.com (click here.)

On Wednesday, March 17th, from 9a – 10a (before your St. Patrick’s festivities,) the Chamber will host a ‘Garbage, Recycling & Compost Webinar 101.’  Produced in partnership with Waste Management, this educational event will focus on ways businesses can reduce their garbage costs and streamline their waste systems.  Attendees can learn contacts and websites for addressing issues, quickly, how to do more recycling and composting, and get information on a Grant Program.  Many tips and resources can be found on the Waste Management PNW/BC Instagram page (click here,) and register for this free (donations accepted) Webinar through the Fremont.com website (click here.)
