The Fremont community continues to find creative ways to celebrate the season.
On Saturday, December 1st, from 2p – 5p, the Friends of the Troll’s Knoll (the area around the Fremont Troll,) will be hosting the first-ever ‘Lighting of the Troll.’ They will be cleaning the east side of the Troll’s Knoll – picking up trash, weeding, removing overgrowth, etc. After that is done, they will hang battery-powered lights around the Troll and environs. This will be a great way to show our community love of the Fremont Troll, and celebrate the season, at the same time!
The following weekend, Dec 7th, 8th & 9th, the annual Fremont Festivus will take place with three days of celebrations of the fun of exploring and shopping the Center of the Universe.
For the first-time ever, the Fremont Music Festival will take place on Saturday, December 8th, from 11a – 7p, providing a showcase for local talent on the stage at Fremont Mischief Distillery. As with most Fremont Festivus events, the Music Festival will be FREE and all ages.
In addition, Fremont Festivus features Lenin Lighting and the First Friday Art & Gift Walk on November 7th, starting at 4:30p. On Sunday, December 8th, the Fremont Holiday Market will offer dozens and dozens of artisanal and flea market shopping options, adding to the already awesome selection of merchandise available at Fremont’s brick-and-mortar shops and restaurants.
Please join us at these community-based celebrations – and spread the word to friends and family to make Fremont a destination for the whole gang! Also, visit the Fremont Festivus website, after Dec 1st, to download your entry in the Roamin’ Holiday Bazaar contest going on all-weekend December 7th – 9th.
