Due to the Federal holiday, as well as the phased reopening of businesses, the July 3rd Fremont First Friday Art Walk is not really happening. Most of the Fremont Art Walk venues are re-opened, and looking forward to inviting artists and art lovers back for the First Friday in August.
The exception is the Down Under Gallery, which will be showing the parkour-inspired photos of Filip Tuhy. In his show ‘Look Up’, photographer Tuhy collaborated with Bryan Riggins over three years to capture a unique perspective on the urban landscape. Through parkour, the practice of movement through architecture and urban obstacles, they’ve show a unique exploration of the city, and self. This exhibition hopes to encourage a reconsideration of the relationship between people and architecture, and what’s possible and impossible. See more @filiptuhyphoto
Of course, the Down Under Gallery is in the headquarters of Fremocentrist.com and we will be hosting another of our ‘Community Chat’ events, this month in the garden outside. Come join us on July 3rd from 5p – 6p (or any time,) to ask questions, share stories and/or raise concerns about the Center of the Universe. Readers are always invited to reach out to Fremocentrist at instigator@fremocentrist.com but if you’d rather talk in person, at 6’ of physical distance, please visit the garden outside the Gallery at 465 N 36th St (ADA accessibility available through the alley behind.)
If you are out and need an art fix, please stop by the Down Under Gallery on Friday, July 3rd from 6p – 9p, and if not, we hope to see you at the Fremont First Friday Art Walk on August 7th, 2020.
