On Friday, December 1st, from 6p – 9p, the Fremont First Friday Art Walk takes on special significance, as it offers a free showcase for area artists – and a chance to explore venues around the Center of the Universe that sell art, artisanal items and unique, creative gifts, ideal for the wonderful people in your life including yourself!
The wonderful folk at Portage Bay Goods have put together a map of the venues participating in this month’s First Friday Art Walk. Check it out by clicking here. Also, on Dec 1st, Portage Bay Goods will feature the art of Mary Atwood, of Hikomari, during their big Holiday Kick-Off Party. Atwood will be displaying her illustrations, made with gouache, wood, watercolor, and ink – and the shop will be handing out jam-packed goodie-bags to the first 50 people in the doors after 6p.
For those seeking more traditional culture, stop by Frame Up Studios, and see works by ten Gage Academy artists. The exhibit features copies of the Old Masters from the Frye Art Museum; breathtaking works by skilled artists. Frame Up also has works for sale from previous shows that they’ve done throughout 2017, along with ready-made frames ideal for the pieces & photos you already own.
At Fremont Jewelry Design, they will have on display, alongside the regular offering of original, creative art jewelry, the Clockwork Dreams collection of mixed-media paintings by Braden Duncan. Watercolor birds, bunnies, kittens and fireflies are depicted in these works, all with a touch of clockwork.
The Fremont First Friday Art Walk offers a monthly opportunity to explore the venues participating, and exposure to art in all its forms and possibilities. Take this stroll around the Center of the Universe, to see the art and the offerings Fremont has this holiday season!
