This Friday, February 1st, during the Fremont First Friday Art Walk, from 6p – 9p, explore new venues, of art display and art creation, among the known favorites participating every month in FFF.
Check out Makerhaus, a new collective artist’s studio, at 122 NW 36th St (the old evo space.) Explore the 10,000 square foot facility during tours, and view the art of Scott Fuller, Jeff Skierka, and Brandon Perhacs.
On the other side of the neighborhood, in the new evo Timesinfinity Gallery (at 3500 Stone Way N,) check out the display of 40 years of iconic Powder Magazine covers. evo and Powder have partnered to put together this display as a fundraiser for the Sun Valley Ski Education Foundation.
In Downtown Fremont, explore a new office building – filled with venues for art, artists and simply interesting small businesses. Check out the Saturn building this Friday, and see a plethora of art in one stop. Visit on:
- First Floor: Lauren Aldrich, a Seattle native who works primarily in oil paint along with mixed media including found & recycled materials
- Second Floor: also Lauren Aldrich
- Third floor: Bryan Ubaghs, self-taught, long-time painter, and a photography show called Doors of Beauty & Intrigue by Arturo Torres
- Fourth Floor: Matt Bazemore, showing his paintings of Golden Gardens, Green Lake, and the Seattle Arboretum
- Fifth Floor: Sean McFayden, with illustrations that utilize his skills within both the culinary and design fields, and at Spa Ginger, the photography of Ryan Castoldi documenting the wine region of Washington State.
Step two blocks north to the Space building (Saturn’s older sibling,) and see:
- Second Floor: Shelley Kemmerer, a multi-media artist incorporating oil painting, fabric, textiles and digital media
- Third Floor: Anette Lusher
- Fourth Floor: Anja Ziegler, a German painter

- Frame-Up Studios, with the photography and paintings of Patrick Joy
- Bellefleur Lingerie, has the art of ‘Blonde Lasagna’ Blair Breitenstein
- Pel’Meni Dumpling Tzar, showing Russian World War II propaganda posters from the collection of Robin Charles to celebrate the restaurant’s second anniversary
- 112 Printworks, with the work of Rich Hall
- Fremont Jewelry Design, for the works of Susan Smilow in a show called ‘Juxtaposition of Modern Laundry vs. Old World Living’
- Portage Bay Goods, displaying a Valentine’s theme show of cards created by Katie Davis
- Balance Studio, showing the multi-media Buddhist and Hindu inspired works of Komsant Laemthong ‘Woody’
- ArtFX Gallery, hosting the watercolors of Justina Calamia
- Hub And Bespoke, with encaustic paintings by Emily Alice Peck
