The Fremont Neighborhood Council (FNC) has a Request For Proposals (RFP) for distribution, to locate a media savvy expert able to assist with streamlining their web and social media communications. The project has received funds from a Seattle Communities Online Boost Grant from the City of Seattle’s Department of Information Technology’s Community Technology Program, matched in part by the FNC.
The Council wants to provide a forum for the community, and to make communication within Fremont more lively and immediate. The expert would assist in creating a system sustainable by the FNC, an all-volunteer organization, with the expected turnover and varied degrees of skills and experience with technology.
“We’re looking for someone who has the skills to help our small nonprofit develop the web presence and content management system that will serve our community, our members and our board,” said Matt Gasparich, Board President of the FNC.
The FNC currently maintain a website, Facebook page, blog and a Yahoo group for private communication among the Board of Directors. “We know we can’t afford to build out the entire system immediately, but we need to bring strategic order into our use of digital media and build a foundation for systematic improvements over the next few years,” explained Linda Clifton, an FNC Board Member and Chair of the Boost grant task force.
The expert would help conduct a needs survey of the board, membership and community, to make recommendations for implementation and create a plan for proceeding. As per the Boost grant guidelines, the first elements of the plan would need to be in place for use by November 28, 2011.
