Attend the July 2017 monthly meeting of the FNC.

On Monday, July 24th, at 7p in Doric Lodge #92, the Fremont Neighborhood Council (FNC) will hear from a couple of special guests, as well as discussing issues and concerns from area residents.  Everyone is welcome to attend the regular monthly meeting of the FNC, particularly those folk who reside at the Center of the Universe.

According to the agenda sent out this week, the FNC meeting for July will feature a representative, Zach Carstensen, from U.S. Representative Pramila Jayapal’s office, for a question and answer session.  Under old business, the agenda mentions Kathleen Warren, of Urban ArtWorks, possibly in attendance to discuss the long-term status of the Signal Box art in Fremont.  The FNC facilitated the painting of about a half-dozen boxes, creating art out of what often becomes magnets for vandalism and graffiti.

The FNC may discuss the art on the Signal Boxes around Fremont, with Urban ArtWorks which facilitates the creation of these public installations.

In addition to these two guests, the FNC also plans to discuss the distribution of settlement money due from the North Seattle Transfer Station development project, provided the co-parties from Lower Wallingford attend this meeting to represent their interests.  Also, the FNC will discuss its proposed budget and seek Board approval of an official donor policy and application form.

Expect all this and potentially other items of interest (HALA comments, Board administration changes, land use updates, etc.) at the FNC monthly meeting on July 24th.  Everyone is welcome to attend FNC meetings, although only paid members can vote in general, and Board Members on specific items.  Find out more about how to join the FNC (and its inexpensive dues structure,) on the official website, or through the FNC Facebook page.
