Next Wednesday, on May 10th, from midnight to midnight, the Seattle Foundation will host its annual Day of Philanthropy, where our on-line donations to area non-profits can be stretched through strategic corporate matches. This year, early-bird pledges can be accepted for GiveBIG in advance of May 10th, with the donation to be processed on that day.
Seattle Foundation vets the non-profits that take part in GiveBIG, and many favorite Fremont causes and projects fit within their high criteria. Moreover, the first $20,000 given to our small non-profits will be matched dollar for dollar.
Please consider giving during GiveBIG on May 10th to:
- Moisture Festival – Your support helps bring creative, fiercely funny and truly beautiful acts to Seattle. - Solid Ground – Create a world without poverty, and help raise our voices against injustice. Solid Ground works to undo racism and other oppressions that they’ve identified as root causes of poverty. Click here to support Solid Ground
- Seattle Public Library Foundation – Donations to the Foundation fund about one out of every six books on the shelves of the Seattle Public Library system, including the Fremont Branch. Invest in the long-term vitality of our libraries, and help purchase materials including DVDs, CDs, children’s books, e-books and on-line resources. - Wallingford Community Senior Center – Support healthy, positive aging, and enable the WCSC to do more to help seniors thrive. This non-profit organization has created an inclusive, vibrant, age-friendly schedule of programs, many hosted at their facility, and open to all. - Urban Sparks – Empower ordinary citizens in leading charitable projects that leverage their talents with professional, non-profit knowledge and an established network. Provide guidance, connections and fiscal sponsorship to create opportunities for community projects, including Seattle CoderDojo, and Seattle AmeriCorps Collaborative.
