On Tuesday, September 9th, from 5p – 7p, neighbors and Gas Works Park users are encouraged to attend the second public meeting on the use of 2008 Parks & Green Spaces Levy money to make improvements to the existing play area of the Park.  The meeting will take place in the covered Play Barn area at Gas Works Park.

The levy calls for the renovation of the existing play area including replacement of play equipment and providing access improvements.  At this Open House the community has the opportunity to learn about the renovation and provide feedback on schematic designs reflecting information gathered during a March public meeting.  Families are encouraged to attend with their children and help prioritize play equipment and other features.

Construction on these renovations currently is scheduled to begin in fall 2015 with completion in spring 2016.  Meanwhile, this fall and next spring, Kite Hill is closed while Puget Sound Energy, in cooperation with Seattle Parks & Recreation, work on a soil cover project.  For more information on this project, visit the Seattle Parks website or contact David Graves at 206/684-7048.
