On Saturday, March 3rd, History House will unveil its newest exhibit, ‘Becoming Us – Through Immigrant Eyes.’ From 2p – 3p, there will be a Grand Opening, free and open-to-the-public, where everyone can get the first look at this exhibit, and meet some of the creators.
Produced by students from Chief Sealth High School and St. Christopher Academy, Becoming Us – Through Immigrant Eyes, documents how immigration has helped make Seattle the city that it is today. The exhibit presents the unique perspective of those who have immigrated, and details their experiences moving to Seattle from another country.
The exhibit includes:
- A six minute clip of the documentary: Becoming Us- Thru the Eyes of Immigrants
- A historical timeline dating from 1850 that describes important events that have helped make Seattle the city that it is today
- A historical photo display
- Thru My Eyes – a photo and art exhibit done by students depicting what immigration means to them
After the grand opening, this exhibit will remain in place for viewing by the public for the entire month of March. For more information on History House, and visiting times, visit the website.
