Get Training For The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT)

Following a major disaster, emergency service can get overwhelmed – and may be unable to provide for the needs of our community.  Be ready to take action in the immediate aftermath of a disaster by taking the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training series.  This training consists of skills based classes teaching about Fire Suppression, Utility Control, Light Search & Rescue, and Disaster First Aid, in addition to basic tenants of Emergency Preparedness and Emergency Response.

The series of classes consists of three sessions that build on each of the previous ones, so it will be important that participants be available to attend all three sessions at South Seattle Community College.  The classes take place:

  • Sat, October 25 from 8:30a – 4:30p
  • Sat, November 1 from 8:30a – 4:30p
  • Sat, November 8 from 8:30a – 4:30p

To learn more about the CERT program, visit their website.  If you are interested in attending the CERT training, request an application from SNAP@seattle.gov.  Applications are due by Friday, October 3rd.
