On Friday, February 3rd, from 6p – 9p, the Fremont First Friday Art Walk offers a chance to stroll and scope out the selection of art, and artists, available at area shops and restaurants. This monthly, free exploration of assorted Fremont art venues gives everyone a chance for an injection of culture and inspiration. Come take the Walk!
For February, check the FFF website for a complete list of participating venues, but be sure to stop by:
- Portage Bay Goods – View the joyful animal art of Portland’s Jahna Vashti. As the artist states, “I like to think of the critters in my work as spirit animals; as an extension of us if we were still in sync with the earth, but with a splash of modern day humor.” Come see this colorful, creative work, share a nosh or two, and revel in the other outrageous items on display at Fremont’s ‘gift shop for the thoughtful procrastinator!’
- Frame-Up Studios – See the premiere presentation of paintings and drawings by Amy Stone at the frame shop. This young artist is not afraid to take risks, provoke and thrill with paintings exploring movement and energy. The interplay of color and texture give her paintings a pulse. The artist has claimed that an artist’s work is never done, and hers is never perfect but that we all should seek beauty in life’s imperfections. Meet Stone and experience her art in this inspirational environment. Frame-Up is one of the country’s most sought after framing destinations, with nearly three decades of unparalleled design expertise.
