Getting The Word Out For Our B.F. Day Elementary P.T.S.A.

With the premature end of the school year, our public elementary school, B.F. Day, needs some help getting the word out to prospective parents looking for a place for their Kindergarten or 1st Grade student next school year.

B.F. Day School has a diverse community, proud of its family atmosphere and ties back to the neighborhood that supports it.  The School nurtures the holistic development of each child, in a respectful environment while meeting the academic needs through strategic uses of resources.  B.F. Day is the oldest, continually operating school in Seattle, and has an outstanding record of parent and community participation in the school governance.

Incoming families, as well as those already registered at B.F. Day, can learn more about the community at our school through the PTSA.  Visit the MailChimp sign-up form (click here) to get the informative e-newsletters for B.F. Day families.  Also, register/Like the B.F. Day Family Facebook page (click here.)

Current B.F. Day parents are encouraged to consider taking a seat on the B.F. Day PTSA Board for the 2020-2021 school year.  This friendly and welcoming group of parents would love to see some new faces.  They need volunteers for the elected positions of President, Vice-President, Treasurer and Secretary, as well as for the roles of Room Parent Coordinator, Legislative (Advocacy) Liaison, Library Liaison and Building Leadership Team Reps.  Anyone interested can contact: Jamé at president@bfdayptsa.org

Recess isn’t just about fun for our children, although it is to be hoped that the students at B.F. Day will be playing together again next school year! Photo by K. Lindsay Laney, Nov ’13

One final note for Fremont parents, at B.F. Day Elementary or not.  The latest P.T.S.A. newsletter mentions ‘Recess from Home’ and the need to give our kids, safely, outside time, during the COVID-19 quarantine.  Even a simple walk around the block in the morning, and then again later in the day, does wonders for parents and child(ren).  The elementary aged children at B.F. Day generally get recess three times a day, and there are studies and statistics that prove the need for that outside free-time.
