The Seattle Foundation GiveBIG campaign allows donors to increase the size of even the smallest gifts. Give donations to non-profits on May 9th (or schedule a donation for that day,) and make a difference.
Several Fremont based non-profits are participating in GiveBIG 2018, and are asking for our help. Consider giving to:
- FamilyWorks Food Bank & Resource Center – FamilyWorks connects families, and neighbors, to nourishing food, essential resources, and supportive community, to build resiliency to meet life’s challenges. Because of a few generous matching donors, FamilyWorks has a $20,000 match for donations made on May 9th. Go to the FamilyWorks GiveBIG webpage
- Solid Ground – Building community to end poverty, Solid Ground also works to undo racism and the other oppressions that they’ve identified as root causes of poverty. Help over 62,000 families move off the streets and into homes, gain access to nutritious food, and reconnect with their communities. Go to the Solid Ground GiveBig webpage.
- Moisture Festival – Support live variété arts and encourage contemporary creativity in a theater genre with a rich history. Donations to Moisture Festival will bring the variété and burlesque showcase back for another run in 2019. Financial gifts translate into fun and amazement for thousands of audience members, and help keep ticket prices low. Go to the Moisture Festival GiveBIG webpage.
- Urban Sparks – Leveraging the talents of citizens doing charitable works with non-profit knowledge and hard-earned lessons, a network of resources, and fiscal sponsorship. Project leadership is difficult, but the results are amazing. GiveBIG gifts to Urban Sparks will be matched, on May 9th, up to $4,000. Go to the Urban Sparks GiveBIG webpage.
- Wallingford Community Senior Center – Support healthy, positive aging and help local seniors thrive. WCSC helps over 1,200 North Seattle residents with programs aimed at health, learning, socializing and cultural awareness, plus serving nutritious community meals. Donations over $150, made through GiveBIG, will be matched up to $5,000. Go to the Wallingford Community Senior Center GiveBIG webpage.
- Orchestra Seattle & Seattle Chamber Singers – OSSCS combine a 70-member orchestra with a 55-voice chorus to perform oratorio masterworks from a symphonic repertoire that includes world premieres by Seattle-area composers. A $5,000 matching gift from an anonymous supporter will increase gifts given on May 9th. Go to the Orchestra Seattle/Seattle Chamber Singers GiveBIG webpage.
- Puget Soundkeeper Alliance – Support a healthy Puget Sound with education, advocacy, community clean-ups, and lobbying. In the face of unprecedented threats to clean water protections, it’s more important than ever for our region to come together to ensure that future generations have clean water and healthy waterways. Donations to Puget Soundkeepers will be matched up to $17,500 during the 2018 GiveBIG. Go to the Puget Soundkeepers Alliance GiveBIG webpage.
- Fremont Abbey Arts Center – Our community center welcomes arts & cultural experiences for people of all ages and incomes. Support creativity and beauty, while growing empathy and increasing awareness for everyone in our neighborhood. Go to the Fremont Abbey Arts Center GiveBIG webpage.
-
Seattle Art Cars – This non-profit, now supported by Shunpike, produces the Seattle Art Car Blowout, one of the largest gatherings of decorated daily drivers in the U.S. Help fund bringing car artists to Seattle – and the Fremont Street Fair – from all over the nation, for a weekend display on June 16th & 17th.
