On Wednesday, June 11th, from 6:30p – 7:45p, at the Fremont Abbey Arts Center, the Seattle Department of Parks & Recreation, the Seattle Department of Neighborhoods and Harrison Design invite the Fremont community – and all Troll lovers! – to a long-awaited public meeting on the design of the Troll’s Knoll Park.
This park, originally designed and planned by community members, wraps around the iconic Fremont Troll sculpture installed by the Fremont Arts Council. This meeting may be the one and only opportunity for community input on the design of this park (although a meeting to review the design will take place on July 16th.)
On June 11th, meeting attendees can learn the current status on this community-initiated project, review the site analysis and provide input. The goal of this project – funded by the Parks & Green Spaces Levy Opportunity Fund – is to convert existing public land surrounding the sculpture into a model, sustainable park space. The large area will include a P-Patch community garden and a critical, planned pedestrian link.
